Johanna P. Perez

Founder & CEO | Reclaiming Us, A Black Pride Wellness Movement

Johanna P. Perez is the founder and CEO of Reclaiming Us, A Black Wellness Movement, a nonprofit built from 25 years of community care addressing the challenges that continue to affect underserved communities, including hunger, homelessness, isolation, barriers to care, and limited access to culturally responsive wellness resources.

Since 2001, Johanna has worked directly within the community, providing meals, supporting unhoused neighbors, connecting individuals and families to trusted resources, and creating affirming spaces where people can heal, build relationships, and thrive. Her work is rooted in belief that wellness begins before crisis and that stronger communities are built through consistent care, trusted connections, and access to opportunity.

Born in Las Vegas and raised in California, Johanna founded Vegas Black Pride® in 2018 and launched San Bernardino County Black Pride™ in 2025. Today, both operate as year-round programs of Reclaiming Us, using culture, wellness, education, and community connection to create lasting impact beyond a single celebration.

Johanna is not simply producing events; she is building a transformative wellness movement that began with one state, expanded to another, and now projects global impact by creating pathways to healing, opportunity, and belonging across communities.
